Planning, eh? 😱

The other day, I took a cognitive skills test. I usually think of myself as fairly capable, but the one weakness that came out of it was planning.

When I have to think more than a week ahead, things become a little blurry. I’m a great one for reacting in the moment, but really bad at telling you what’s in my diary 2 weeks ahead.

But here’s the thing: Once a plan is made, I respond REALLY well to it. My running app is a fab example. If it tells me what to do, I’m ready to go.

So knowing that I am bad at planning but good at acting out a plan, what’s left is this: MAKE THE DAMN PLAN.

And that’s where Comfy Marketing Gameplan by Laura from Worditude comes in.

Since I first wrote this review, Laura has moved Comfy Marketing Gameplan into her All-Access Pass. That means you get the course plus a whole library of practical, sustainable marketing support.

What is Comfy Marketing Gameplan?

Comfy Marketing Gameplan is a video course with easy planning templates, designed to help business owners work out how they’ll market their business and get sales in the next 10-12 weeks.

Who’s Comfy Marketing Gameplan For?

This course is perfect for anyone who sells their expertise online in any format. You could be a service provider or course creator, and it will work. This is NOT a highly polished, perfect, shiny plan for corporate businesses. The Worditude style is 100% for real humans.

How it Worked for Me

I tested this for myself and was surprised how quickly I got my own Gameplan up and running. In under 2 hours, the plans for my coaching business felt pretty steady.

Laura from Worditude is a great teacher. She’s deliciously loose and permissive about the details that would usually trip me up the most: precise dates, precise messaging, all that stuff I will change my mind about anyway.

She knows what it’s like to run a business when you have other challenges to manage. So instead of having to plan out your life precisely, expect to work in 3 important categories: “Now”, “Next”, and “Maybe”.

My Results From This Marketing Course

This is not your big corporate marketing strategy document, but it does pull from the best practice that Laura brings to the table as a seasoned marketer. Her guidance helped me make sure I cover all key aspects I will need to make my marketing work, and kept me from overloading the docket as well.

The templates in Marketing Gameplan are excellent, and Laura has made sure there’s a format for everyone:

  • Canva

  • Notion

  • Google Doc.

The templates include details like

  • your regular marketing activities

  • plans for the coming months

  • resources to help you

  • measures of success.

I loved the Notion template provided and made myself two plans with it: one for my language learning business, and one for my coaching work.

🤩 My Key Insights From Marketing Gameplan

1. Marketing is Business: Laura’s Marketing Gameplan reminded me just how much we all need to accept marketing as a natural part of our business. I can be a little guilty of trusting that “My work speaks for itself”, but with her help I’ve been gently called out of that cave.

2. “Like Goals, But Held More Lightly”: The Gameplan is not a to-do list. Instead, I got to start off by revisiting the purpose of my business so I can hold the tasks more lightly.

3. The Gameplan concept is simple and fast! In less than a day, I was able to put together all the plans I need for two businesses in the coming 10 weeks.

Should You Go For It and Join Comfy Marketing Gameplan?

I think Marketing Gameplan is a brilliant investment if you’re in need of a simple plan for what you’re going to achieve in the next few months. I love that it wasn’t a big strategic heavyweight, and helped me focus on action instead.

In terms of ongoing support, you’re on to a winner. Laura offers plenty of coaching upgrades, and there’s also an online group for her customers. She occasionally runs motivating action weeks where you can get even more support and feedback.

There are also plenty of formats to choose from, so you can watch the videos, read transcripts, or listen to the whole thing in your podcast player.

You can now get Comfy Marketing Gameplan inside Laura’s All-Access Pass, alongside her other courses and workshops. It’s a solid deal.

Any Limitations?

This isn’t for complete online business newbies. You need some experience with online marketing terms. For example, Laura mentions evergreen funnels and gateway offers, but doesn’t go into deep detail explaining what those are.

What is a Gameplan in Marketing?

Gameplan is another word for marketing strategy, really. The idea is to create an overall plan for how you’ll attract customers, connect with interested people, and make successful sales in your business.

In her All-Access Pass containing Comfy Marketing Gameplan, Laura will teach you her Marketing Trifecta: attract, nurture, and convert. She makes it very easy to understand how these elements fit together, and helps you sort your list into the categories.

How Long Should I Run My Marketing Gameplan?

There’s no perfect duration for any marketing plan or campaign, especially if you’re a busy solo business owner. But for planning and making sure you have a chance to see the results of your work, allow for 10-12 weeks.

In Marketing Gameplan, Laura recommends re-planning when you’re about a week off finishing your current gameplan.
