Website Builder: Squarespace

I have been a Squarespace customer from day 1, and I love them as a website builder.

Easy to use, flexible, simple, and no need to worry about hosting or update plugins.

Newsletter: ConvertKit*

Designed with solopreneurs in mind, ConvertKit is a solid email marketing tool including automations, sign-up forms and landing pages.

Graphics:
Canva

Promo graphics, course logos, social media, email headers…Canva is a must-have for making pretty things.

Very solid free version so you can fully use this from day 1.

Booking System: Book Like a Boss*

This is a GREAT calendar tool to help you get booked for paid and free sessions, and even group bookings!

Works really well with Google Calendar.

Online Courses: Teachable

I have used Teachable for 7+ years and love the student experience inside the courses.

There are some aspects I’m conflicted about, so this is a 1/2 recommendation.

Taking Payments: Thrivecart*

ThriveCart integrates nicely with my course host and my email marketing software. Not perfect, but a great option if you need to take payments online. It’s a lifetime deal so you only pay once!

Here’s a list of other little things I use:

  • Hover for domain names

  • Notion to manage all my projects & to-dos

  • Hey for my day-to-day email. No inbox chaos.

  • Convertbox* for pop-ups and temporary content like discounts.

  • Appsumo* for great software deals. It’s where I found Book Like a Boss!

People I Learn From

I do not believe that we should be scared of our “competition”, so I’m very happy to link to people who also support online business owners. Plus, I want you to know who influenced me so you can get a sense of what I am like, too.

Lizzy Goddard*

Online business strategist with a focus on multi-offer business. I’m proud to say I side-hustle as an assistant coach working in Lizzy’s team. I’ve learnt a lot from her.

Ruth Poundwhite*

Ruth’s focus is on running your business in a soulful way that honours your feelings and fears as much as your ambitious goals.

Laura Robinson*

What I love about Laura is her remarkable ability to be her full self in all aspects of her business: funny, laid-back, and flipping great at marketing.

Liz Wilcox

Liz is an email marketing expert and runs a low-cost subscription full of newsletter ideas and strategy. I’ve been a subscriber for many years.
